Nintendo today announced that there will be 400,000 Wii units on Japanese shelves for launch in its home country on December 2nd over four times as many units that Sony had for the PS3 launch last week.

The Nintendo DS will also receive a boost with over 1.5 Million units of the popular handheld being shipped to Japan in December for the critical and often insane end of year shopping season.

More Inside Speaking to IGN AU, Nintendo Australias PR Manager Vispi Bhopti said that, “”We are still finalising the Australian shipment numbers.”” NAL have stressed to us in the past few weeks, however, that there will be a limited supply of Wii consoles here. So if you havent already done so, go out now and preorder your Wii otherwise you might miss out.
