Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies will now be released around the world, after Nintendo announced at their Media Summit that they are working with developer Square Enix in a "unique partnership" to take the franchise outside of Japan.
This will make Dragon Quest IX the second third-party title to be supported by Nintendo, the other being Capcom’s Monster Hunter Tri on Wii which will be released in May.
Dragon Quest IX will be the first game in the Dragon Quest series to be released on a handheld, and exclusively on the DS. Launched in July 2009 in Japan, the game has sold more than 4.15 million copies and scored a coveted 40/40 by Famitsu magazine.
Look out for it this winter, yes even here in Australia.
And it looks Grand.
From Mario to Zelda, to Splatoon to Donkey Kong. Everything on Nintendo Music.
