Nintendo to livestream Fatal Frame event this week

Or you might know it as Project Zero, but either way, head inside to see when.

When we first reported on a brand new Fatal Frame (known as Project Zero here) game coming to the Wii U back in April, there was little indication that the game would be in a state to be playable or at least presentable to the general population.

Thankfully, it appears the game could be further along than we thought as Nintendo are going to be doing a livestream “mixed media event” which will cover the new Fatal Frame / Project Zero film as well as provide updates on the Wii U game we previously reported on.

Previously unseen, the developers also revealed a piece of artwork for the game. It shows the four playable characters from the first four Fatal Frame / Project Zero games, along with a shadowy figure behind them, who is presumably the playable character of this new title.

The stream will take place on Thursday, the 17th of July at roughly 1:30pm Japan time through NicoNico channel. You can view the stream here.

Of course, if you’re not in Japan, we’ve included localised times for when the stream will be taking place in AWST, ACST and AEST.

While only one Fatal Frame / Project Zero game has made it to Australia on the Wii (which we loved, by the way), there have been no plans announced to bring this new title anywhere besides Japan at this stage.

Hopefully we’ll hear more about the game as time progresses, and it makes it’s way over here, although it’s not clear just how much of this week’s event will focus on the game, it will be good to hear some updates nonetheless.
