Nintendo to launch Android tethering app for 3DS for Japanese smartphones
Nintendo wants more people to use their Nintendo 3DS online now they’re making it even easier – at least for the Japanese.
The company has today announced a new app for Android smartphones and tablets which will allow users to connect and share their devices internet connection simply and easily. The program will use WPS technology to do this but only certain phones on the DoCoMo network will be supported.
You might be thinking, so what I can use Portable Hotspot to do this with any phone right now and you still can. This app will allow tethering to be quick and easy and not only that get around some phones or carriers which don’t allow tethering (or charge).
If you’re Japanese, own one of the compatible phones or tablets and are on DoCoMo you can do a survey and receive a free Virtual Console game for the 3DS. Not a bad deal.
Could be great to see this program outside of Japan, but if not we’ll live. The app is out tomorrow of the Japanese Google Play Store only.
Sheesh okay okay I admit I forgot/never ever use Hotspot.
