Yeah but what a game.

The Nintendo Switch will finally launch in China officially next week. Nintendo announced with the help of Tencent will bring the console and just the one launch game next week on December 10th.

Getting a console and games to be sold in China is a lot of work and red tape, so far only the console and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe have approved for sale. The game is bundled with the console.

Nintendo’s own Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario Odyssey can be preordered but are expected a later date, the same with a limited range of third party games. These will also be released at a later date.

Ubisoft is supporting the strongly at launch with its own exclusive to China Rabbids game called ‘Rabbids: Adventure Party’ among others. Whether or not it ever comes out of China remains to be seen.

Will Nintendo be able to crack the Chinese market? It’ll be interesting to see how it goes.
