The Nintendo Switch Has Sold 4.7 Million Units Since Launch

That's a lot of Switches.

It’s that time again — Nintendo has released its consolidated financial highlights for the period of April 2017-June 2017, and the numbers are looking good.

In its quarterly report, Nintendo detailed that it had shipped 1.97 million units since April, bringing the life-to-date total up to a staggering 4.7 million units sold over a period of just 6 months. For the sake of comparison, at this point in its lifetime, the Wii U had shipped only 3.61 million units, and the 3DS had shipped around 4.5 million. Nintendo is still reporting a prediction of 10 million Switch units shipped by the end of March 2018, and if these sales numbers are anything to go by, it looks like they’re well on their way to meeting that prediction.

Japan — 520,000 units

North America — 750,000 units

Other Regions — 690,000 units

Total — 1,970,000 units

Japan — 1,120,000 units
