The Nintendo Switch day one patch and eShop are live, here’s what it does
Just two hours before the Nintendo Switch was set to launch in Australia, and one minute after it went on sale in New Zealand the day one update for the Switch dropped.
We’ve downloaded it, played around with the settings and found some good things and some things that make us worry. At the time of writing there was nothing in the eShop on sale as it’s not passed release time (3/3) here in Australia yet.
To trigger the all you have to do is visit the eShop or choose the option from the settings, we’ve got the NBN here so it didn’t take long to download. We’re sure tomorrow things will be a little bit different with the general public able to get on. After it downloaded it installed in about 20 seconds and rebooted the console, upon reboot there was no visible change log. We’ve got through the changes below;

Before anyone gets in an uproar.. you can clearly see it says search for nearby, search for user you played with and search for friend code.
Looks like it runs on the friend code system but it’s tied to your username.
