I would just like to say Thankyou Sir for sharing! Nintendo is screwing around with my emails right now so not sure if I would even receive the code. I used the middle one and very much appreciate it.

I haven’t unsubscribed from any email service from Nintendo, but I’ve never received much from them aside from when I’ve manually had to get stuff, like that animal crossing code. Hope I’m eligible, but I doubt it. Even trying to re-sign up for the newsletter fails, spouting that the passwords don’t match, even though it only has one password entry field. Typical of Nintendo AU.

I haven’t got an email, what is this? Other than an outrage.

I think it’s only the Club Nintendo members who moved to platinum status between July 2013 to June 2014, have registered their 3DS handhelds, and have opted in for emails are selected to receive the codes.
Btw, anyone else have any spare PAL codes that they’re willing to share?

Apparently you need to Opt-In to promotional emails from Nintendo via a setting in the eShop, otherwise you won’t get the email.

Thanks for the heads up Nicholas. Any idea exactly where you change this setting? I’m afraid I can’t find it on the eShop or in my Club Nintendo account.

I actually just managed to get a code from somewhere else, but this information would probably still help some other people.

I was able to get some codes. What did you have to do to qualify? In the US you had to be a Club Nintendo Platinum member. What determined whether you got a set of codes over here?

I checked their website; they never specified. I would assume it would be the same requirements as the American one excluding being a Platinum member.

So presumedly it would be: 3DS has to be registered on Club Nintendo and I think the actual 3DS has to be tied to Club Nintendo as well. Oh and register yourself for Nintendo’s newsletters.

Well, it’s good in some way that some Nintendo fans are nice enough to giveaway their codes but it is quite sad to see how desperate some people have become to get them. I had over 80 comments on one of my miiverse posts with people begging me for a code. Just wait a week for the demo. It’s not long!

I offered my two spares up on my FB page (which is linked to my Twitter) and was inundated with likes, comments and follows in the space of 10 minutes. I had no idea the codes were that desirable! I was expecting one or two of my friends to ask for them, but all these strangers went mental trying to get them. I finally gave one away to a guy on Twitter after a lot of shenanigans and checking he could use it, only to find him immediately trying to swap it for a NA version. I was so annoyed – I could’ve given it to someone locally! Well, it was certainly a lesson in social media marketing, that’s for sure!
