Nintendo’s still yet unnamed online service for the Nintendo Switch now has a possible price range.
With just under a month to go now until launch, Nintendo has told the Nikkei that they plan to charge 2-3,000 Yen ($23AUD – $34AUD) per year for the service. Keep in mind that that’s just a converted price and Nintendo will undoubtedly change the pricing in each region to suit the market.
This is probably a lot less than people were expecting and Nintendo may be just trying to gauge public reaction by giving a ballpark figure. For comparison, Xbox Live Gold and the PlayStation Plus services cost between $69.95 and $89.95 depending on where you buy the subscription. To see Nintendo came well under that, is a great sign.
The online service for the Switch will allow you to play games online, use the smartphone app for online lobby and voice chat services, offer exclusive deals and get a free NES or SNES game per month to play.
Get in quick, they go fast.
