Nintendo responds to Miiverse ‘hacking’, calls content a ‘mock-up’.

Whatever what accessed, it's still quite interesting.

Earlier today the Miiverse had its first ‘hack’ attack, albeit very accidentally. A NeoGAF user accidentally accessed what appeared to be not only the console’s debug menu but also gained admin privileges on the network.

In addition to the new abilities to view the other peoples posts, delete and edit posts the user also found what could be possible upcoming games. There was ‘future’ communities listed for titles such as Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evils (sic) and even one for Yoshi’s Island Wii U. It’s all very exciting and frightening. Could Nintendo’s new network be breached so easy by an end user. One who wasn’t even trying?

Nintendo’s now responded to the news, telling Gameindustry International that the “It has come to our attention that some people were able to access a mock up menu on Miiverse following the launch of Wii U in the US, Please note that this was only a mock up menu and has now been removed and is not accessible.”

So who to believe? Nintendo’s obviously not going to confirm anything from the menus even if it was true, but then again being a web based interface, anything could have been left behind from testing.
