Nintendo to push into health, learning and ‘quality of life’ products
Nintendo will look at launching products to help ‘quality of life’ for it’s next ‘platform’. Satoru Iwata took the stage today at an investors briefing to tell investors that over the next 10 years Nintendo’s focus will be “quality of life through entertainment”. These products will be integrated with future games, how so Iwata did not reveal.
The devices Nintendo plan to eventually implement aren’t planned to be released until 2015, however we will learn more about these products as this year rolls on. Satoru Iwata told investors there is a flood of wearable devices on the market already but Nintendo’s offering will ‘leapfrog’ those completely.
Nintendo is again going after the ‘blue ocean’ with this strategy, whatever they have planned they believe there isn’t much of a market for it yet.
