Will be at a "price that is in line with consumer expectations".
As predicted Nintendo didn’t have much to say about the Switch itself during it’s financial results briefing today in Japan.
Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima did however reveal that the company plans to ship 2 million Switch consoles before the end of the fiscal year which is March 2017. That’s the same month the console is planned to be released in meaning Nintendo is either releasing the console very late in March or they’re not going to have very many to sell. To compare Nintendo sold 3.06 million in the first six weeks of Nintendo 3DS when that launched.
Those two million consoles will be spread around United States, Europe, and Japan according to Nintendo. Usually whenever Nintendo say ‘Europe’ they mean us here in Australia well.
Kimishima also mentioned that Nintendo plans on making a profit from each Switch sold, but at the same time they want to to able to ‘ensure the device comes out at a price that is in line with consumer expectations’. Hopefully that means it won’t be too expensive.
What do you think is the right price for the Nintendo Switch?
