Nintendo of Europe might have accidentally revealed Hero’s release date
Earlier today, Nintendo announced that we’d be hearing more about Dragon Quest’s Hero fighter in Smash tomorrow night, including the release date. Well… now we don’t have to wait for that info.
The announcement tweet for the presentation in each region was followed by a tweet informing users that the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 4.0.0 update was coming soon, and that they’d have to convert videos. This is what that tweet looked like for Australia:
Ver 4.0 of Super #SmashBrosUltimate will arrive soon! This update will include fighter adjustments, meaning replay data from previous versions will be incompatible. Convert your replays by going to Vault -> Replays -> Replay Data -> Convert to Video, before updating.

Pretty standard. This is what it looked like for Europe:
Notice something different? Nintendo of Europe included a date. Oops.
The tweet has since been deleted and replaced with a tweet that says the update will come out “within 7 days” but come on, we all know what’s up. Piranha Plant released alongside the 2.0.0 update, and Joker released alongside the 3.0.0 update, so if history is anything to go by, we should be seeing Hero released alongside the 4.0.0 update this Wednesday. In any case, we’ll find out in just over a day.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated if anything else happens.
