Nintendo Network Premium details for Australia revealed
The Nintendo Network Premium programme is a special setup just for Premium Wii U set buyers, it rewards purchases on the eShop with points, gain a certain amount of points and then you’ll get credit on the eShop for something else. Nintendo Australia have posted to their site just how many points you’ll need to get your voucher back.
Nintendo says you will earn 6 points for each dollar you spend on the eShop. New Zealanders will earn 5 points for each dollar.
Once you collect 500 points, you will then receive an activation code to add $7.00 ($9.00NZD) credit to your eShop account. That means you have to spend roughly about $83.33 to get your credit. Not exactly the 10% Nintendo originally announced, however they did stipulate that it would be different per region.
You can earn points on purchases right up until 31st December 2014. You’ll have up until March 31st to redeem any points.
Nintendo will post a site up when the programme goes live.
Nice! I just hope they get cracking with the eShop and Virtual Shop for the Wii U. I will be buying up large then!
Until retail games drop in price on the eShop I see no reason to own them over the disc/retail versions.
I think if you take GST of the game price, then sum the ex-GST prices, it’ll be 10% – you can’t expect a discount on money that goes to the government 😉
