The long saga of Nintendo in New Zealand has finally come to an end, from September 1st Nintendo Australia will be officially taking over product distribution and advertisement in the land of the long white cloud. If you have not been following, Nintendo has had a rough trot in New Zealand with their most recent distributor going broke. This, of course, followed years of neglect for Nintendo products in the country which has led to New Zealand being one of only a few country in the world where the Wii has not done as well. More inside For example; Take a look at the last week sales charts from the country;
While the Wii and Nintendo DS have been embraced by the Aussie public, New Zealanders have not shown the system the same amount of love, be it because of poor service or, in most cases, the inability to buy the games and systems. Nintendo will also undertake a huge advertising campaign in the country with ads for Brain Training, Wii Sports and Wii Fit being the main attractions. Five Nintendo DS, and six Wii advertising campaigns are planned between 1 September and Christmas 2008.
Lets just hope Nintendo Japan is not making the guys and girls at Nintendo Australia work for two countries and get some extra support.
