Food, Fashion and Furniture, direct from your Wii console

Nintendo is launching a new Wii channel next week in Japan and it’s a little bit of an odd one. The Wii no Ma Shopping channel will go live next week and allow Japanese Wii owners to buy exclusive items in a ’mall like’ environment.

Three Japanese suppliers are on board offering a range of different products such as food, fashion items and even furniture. Of course you will be able to buy 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

According to Nintendo, there are now 10.7 million Wii’s in Japan and of those only 40% connect to the internet. That is still a fair chunk of people who could possibly connect to this new online store.
