Both Nintendo systems saw stellar North American sales (again, and again…) during March. The official NPD sales figures show the Wii selling 721,000 units. The Wii was well ahead of the Xbox 360, which sold 279,000 units. The Playstation 3 sold a total of 275,000 units and its predecessor the PS2 selling 216,000. Unsurprisingly, the DS continues to sell well with 698,000 units solid, doubling that of the PSP. More Inside Software-wise, Super Smash Bros. brawl was on top of the chart, shipping an incredible 2.7 Million units, well ahead of the number two on the list, Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 (on 360) with 752.3 thousand. Wii Play was also on the list at number 4, with the Wii version of Guitar Hero III at number 7. One final statistic: The DS has now sold more than 19 Million units since release in November 2004.
