No more pointed can be added after September 2016 either.

Nintendo has announced the Nintendo DSi Shop will close down one year from today, March 31st 2017.

From that point on you’ll no longer be able to download any DsiWare games to your DSi console, so never delete them. From September 30th of this year Nintendo will also shut off the ability to add points to your DSi, there’s also some talk of Nintendo refunding points as eShop credit however the Japanese FAQ says more details about that are still forthcoming.

If you’re still after DSiWare games you’ll be able to find them on the Nintendo 3DS eShop, we’re not sure how this will affect transfers from DSi consoles to 3DS consoles at this point however – stay tuned for that.

If you’re keen to pick up some DSiWare games for your DSi we’d probably recommend against it and buy them on the 3DS eShop instead. Not sure which ones are worth buying? We’ve got an article looking back at the best and we also had a Touching is Good episode on the subject, check that out below.
