StreetPass and SpotPass features to the max, communities and more

Nintendo has gone all out, as promised, about Mario Kart 7’s online features. First up, the simple things, Mario Kart 7 will support 8 players online and the game will even continue to run at 60 fps while online – buttery-smooth Mario Kart for everyone then.

But Mario Kart 7’s features go beyond just looking good. Nintendo has also jammed a Mario Kart Channel in there that will download ghosts via SpotPass and StreetPass. There will be new ghosts made available daily via SpotPass.

The Channel will also be good for setting up races and seeing who is online. You’ll be able to select individual people and race their ghosts. There’s also a ton of "community features" including the ability to make groups to invite your friends into. The new Community feature means you can make your own rules and setup your own league of sorts. Community leaderboards will also show the most up-to-date information from recent races.

Who wants to join the Vooks Racing Team then?
