Nintendo DS passes 3 million in the United Kingdom

New figures from UK chart people Chart-Track has revealed that there is now more then 3 million people with a Nintendo DS or Nintendo DS Lite in the UK. The DS platform has now secured a 68% share of the handheld market.

The statement issued by Nintendo says that the DS was the best selling platform of 2006 and in 2007 is already the market leader. Nintendo of course said that it was due to the Touch Generation sales success that makes the DS appeal to wider demographic.

Nintendo UK boss, David Yarton says “”Its a great testament to the strength of the DS hardware and software range available that just as Nintendo DS has passed its second birthday here in the UK, it reaches such a landmark sales figure.
