Nintendo Download Updates (25/7) What Will You Pik Up?
Its a bit of a small week this week, but who the hell cares because Pikmin 3 is finally here.
The time for the Wii U to shine is here, the 3DS has been getting all the hotness for the past 6 months or more – now its the Wii U’s turn.

If you’re a fan of the Wii U Panorama View tours there’s a little deal going on too. Any way, lets talk about Pikmin 3 instead?

i’m copping the tax in a way but going pikmin digitally because a month with animal crossing on the 3ds had convinced me that i prefer games installed and ready to go.. at least for the games that i know i’m going to keep over the life of the system.
Funny how the UK got a 10 pound discount on Pikmin 3, but we are paying full price still. Please tell me the buy Pikmin 3 and get The Wonderful 101 at a 30% discount digital offer applies to Australia? Don’t make me cry Nintendo 🙁
I came to an epiphany that I never actually trade in Nintendo published software, so I went out and bought a 2tb drive for my Wii U and will be downloading all my Nintendo published titles, and will probably still get boxed retail for 3rd parties as I always find I get sick of them after a few weeks.
Looks like Nintendo Australia is going to miss out again getting any cash from me. I will either get the eshop code from Game U.K ($59) or just buy it via the eshop from one of my 2 European Accounts! Not only is it cheaper but the 30% discount on W101 will also apply!
Thanks for that comment, it made me realise I could make a UK account, buy the download code GAME is selling, and get it for $61 and a day earlier than Australia’s release. Just hoping 2 eShop accounts won’t come back to bite me later.
@Matthew – If you have the Premium Wii U, you can actually accrue Premium points on the U.K account too! There are really no disadvantages in having an extra Euro based account!
Ultimately I prefer to have the physical game, particularly on a home console (digital provides a larger advantage on handhelds), Animal Crossing is definitely a game I kind of wish I’d bought digitally, though, simply because it would be great to have there to do my daily stuff and then be able to play whatever I have in the card slot without having to swap all of the time.
Nintendo’s approach to digital rights is too much of a barrier for me, though, when there’s a physical option.
I don’t know why I’m telling you all of this. 😛
