Nintendo Download Updates (22/8) Oldies but Goodies
We’re nearing the end of August, but there’s always time to stop and smell the eShop updates, especially if you love sales. The biggest draw this week is the Super Smash Bros. Veteran Fighter sales, with a variety of Fire Emblem, Pokemon, Mario, Sonic, Donkey Kong and of course Kirby titles all on sale.
And among this discount madness, Fire Emblem hits the GameBoy Advance Virtual Console this week, gracing our Wii Us with our first Fire Emblem title- at least until we get a new one. The Wii U is also nabbing two other Virtual Console games, and a couple of launch day indie games on sale as well.
The 3DS is getting another Mega Man game, with the fourth GameBoy game making it’s way to the 3DS Virtual Console. Other than that, there’s not much to talk about this week on our favourite clamshell.
So what say you, jumping right in for some Smash Bros. celebrations? Or holding out for next week?

3DS U?
Also surprised that New Super Mario Bros U is still $80 on the eShop when it’s $50 at most retailers. New Super Luigi U is, however around $60 at most retailers but that’s probably because it is a limited production run.
I meant $40 for NSMBWU.
We’re never getting Shovel Knight are we?

It’s still in the pipe-line. There’s a status page on their site that lists the Aussie status

Re: This weeks games
Fire Emblem GBA looks like a good choice..,. though I haven’t finished the 3DS version yet.
Now that Ubisoft, EA and Activision have all but canned support aside from one or two titles, the onus is on Nintendo Australia to get indie titles classified. Pay the costs and do the submissions for them.
An audience which will otherwise have very frequent and very long software droughts will either switch to European eShop, import a US console, or get a rival console and not look back.
Lack of content is not acceptable.
This one really disappointed me, as I was really looking forward to Tropical Freeze going on special. Would have brought it if it did.
