Nintendo Download Updates (11/12) – Wright place, Wright time
It’s a big week of sales on both of the Nintendo consoles but the main attraction is definitely the addition of the Phoenix Wright Trilogy on the Nintendo 3DS.
It brings all of the original three Phoenix Wright titles back with new graphics and full 3D support. It’s pricy, but there’s a ton of gaming to be had in there.
The other game of note is Pokémon Pinball Ruby & Sapphire, as if you didn’t have enough Pokemon to play right now.
Anything for you then this week?

Anybody know if Rune Factory 4 is getting a retail release? It was my understanding that the European release had been cancelled entirely.
@Zidapi
No retail release. The release was cancelled in January 2014 because Neverland went bankrupt.
The eShop release from XSEED came out of the blue, basically. I think it was only announced that it was being released last week.
It’s great to see Zen Pinball 2 still being supported with DLC. It’s really fantastic.
BTW, “bargains galore, no objections” made me chuckle. Well played.
$45 for Phoenix Wright? Jeez. I held off buying the iOS Universal version for that and it’s $22 for the same content. Yeah, you get cleaned up visuals on the 3DS but it’s not worth double.
I, too- am disappoint.
There’s no question about the value of the package for first-timers but for someone like me who wanted to replay it, $45 is a bit steep.
I’m not paying $45 for a digital download that’s locked to a single console. I would have paid $60 for a retail release though.
I can buy the iOS version for less than half the price of the eShop edition and I would at least have the option to play that on both the iPhone and iPad.
The European release of Rune Factory 4 was cancelled at the beginning of this year, but then it became an eShop exclusive. Hometown Story was originally released as an eShop exclusive, but it was later issued a physical release a couple of months later (with a slightly higher retail price), so it’s a possibility.
We won’t be getting a retail release of Rune Factory 4 simply due to the fact that we are now bound by the European release schedule (and particularly with niche games such as this, we receive European coded cartridges, while 1st party games more often than not are Australian coded). In the old days (of the GBA and DS) we used to get the American releases of most of our games. While many games were delayed for the European market, we’d occasionally get them BEFORE Europe as our market does not require the additional localisation work that is necessary for the European release as the option to the play the game in English alone was sufficient for the Australian release.
Hope next week has better deals
