Welcome to the weekend (well, we’re almost there). To get our weekend into gear, there are some ’new’ games to play, and by ’new’ I mean games that have been out in the US for nearly a year and even longer in Japan.
WiiWare
Sandy Beach (Konami, 500 Points) – WiiWare’s first sandbox title is here. Nope, it’s not Grand Theft Auto, but an actual sandbox game. You play in the sand at a beach building a sandcastle. Although, perhaps you’re better off doing that than running over police and prostitutes.
Chess Challenge (Digital Leisure, 500 Points) – This one is a challenge, it says so in the title. It also has chess. You can play it online or you can take on the super hard AI, which really is the challenge. It’s chess on WiiWare, enough said.
DSiWare
Link ’n’ Launch (Nintendo, 500 Points) – The minds behind Advance Wars put you in control of blocks. These blocks hold the key to launch a rocket. You can launch said rocket by linking up the blocks to make a track. Sure it sounds simple, but it’s quite good too.
Chess Challenge! (Digital Lesiure, 500 Points) – Yes, this is the pocket version of the previously mentioned Chess game. This one you can share with your friends over wifi or just pass around the DSi.
Animal Puzzle Adventure (Aksys Games, 500 Points) – Put away those pesky animals in that there barn. It’s a puzzling adventure, but it’s not a very good one.
Next week there better be a game with some sort of ’Cave Story’,
Virtual Console
Aero the Acrobat 2 (Sunsoft, Super Nintendo, 800 Wii Points) – Sunsoft is back again and this time, it’s the better of the Aero the Acrobat games. Personally, I have never played these games, should I or any others give this a shot?
But it's not for everyone yet.
Hands on events coming before launch.
