Virtual Console
Ufouria: The Saga (NES, 500 Points)
If you haven’t heard of this one then we won’t blame you. This little known Sunsoft title is a rare one but it’s now available to you for the low price of 500 points. Ufouria is the tale of Bop-Louie; he isn’t as packed to the wall with abilities like Mario or Sonic so he needs a little help. Luckily his friends are there to help him get through the game.
WiiWare
Jett Rocket (Shin’en, 1000 Points)
When you look at the trailers for this game you’d be amiss to think this wasn’t a WiiWare title, but it is indeed. It was developed by Shinen, who brought you Nanostray on the DS and Art of Balance for WiiWare. This 3D platformer comes out on the same week as another great big 3D platformer but it’s worth a look. You play as Jett as he powers along to protect the land of Yoroppa. It’s under attack from the Power Plant Posse. This posse is draining the planet of all its power. Get to it son!
DSiWare
Maestro! Green Groove (Neko Entertainment, 500 Points)
Maestro has you playing as a young bird called Presto. He’s been put to the job of freeing up the world’s musical notes from an evil, evil spider. The game is played by tapping and strumming the touch screen to the beat of the music.
Extreme Hangman (Gamelion, 200 Points)
Isn’t Hangman already kind of extreme as it is? I mean, why would you hang someone if you can’t pick a random word from guessing numbers. Whatever the case, this is Extreme Hangman.
Prehistorik Man (Interplay, 800 Points)
Originally an old DOS game, then a Gameboy, SNES and Gameboy Advance one, Sam the Prehistorik Man is back on the Nintendo DSi. Sam is mad, the dinosaurs have taken the winter food supply and you’ll need to traverse 22 levels to get your revenge. Early press coverage suggests that this isn’t a great one, so be wary.
Mercs, Vectorman and ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron.
