Is Virtual Console dead in 2010? Two weeks no with nary a Virtual Console game in sight. Oh yeah, happy new year! Has Nintendo given up on the Virtual Console? They said they would be concentrating on it less but now two weeks in a row...nothing. Then...
Has Nintendo given up on the Virtual Console? They said they would be concentrating on it less but now two weeks in a row…nothing. Then again we haven’t got Excitebike yet (no, I will not let it go). But I digress, here is the other stuff we got this week, all exciting, really.
Five games this week, first up the two for WiiWare. Happy Hammerin’ is an animal cruelty simulator; alright, so it’s just an old Whack a Mole style game. There is more to it than just whacking creatures over the head that are no doubt planning acts of terrorism. The game can be played with four players, too. Tomena Sanner is the other game out this week; Konami’s employee must have been on the herb when they made this one. It requires you to play in the role of Hitoshi Susumu as he rushes to get to his dance party. Sure, that’s not too crazy, but you’ll have to be running past dinosaurs, cowboys and samurai. These games are 500 points each.
DSi owners aren’t left out of the fun with a DSi version of Mini Nights hitting the service. Become the superstar you have always wanted to be in Miami Nights: Life in the Spotlight. It’s a mobile phone port so don’t expect much, but Gameloft always manage to surprise. Next up is High Stakes Texas Hold’em from Hudson which isn’t too deep, and while it contains multiplayer, for 500 points you’re probably better off saving your points.
Finally is an impressive feat to say the least. It’s Dragons Lair, on DSiWare. Yep, they’ve managed to fit the classic Laserdisc game into the small download size that Nintendo allows for DSiWare. We presume this is exactly the same as it has been since the dawn of time. Check it out, if only to see an entire FMV game jammed onto DSiWare.
