It’s a pretty packed week this week with multiple games for all services and even an import, even if it is another version of Street Fighter II and at a highly inflated price.
WiiWare
WiiWare’s got two titles, one from Tecmo and the other from Natsume. Tecmo’s offering sees you don the fat suit and become a Sumo wrestler. Eat! Fat! FIGHT! has you, as the title is suggesting, eating and fighting like a obese sumo wrestler, you know, like you have always wanted too. Moki Moki, the second title, is a puzzler that sees you helping the Moki. They’re being eating all up by Groblims and it’s your job to get them to safety. You’ll be bending and twisting the world around across a series of puzzles, but there are obstacles in the way.
DSiWare
Four titles for our favourite DS system. Castle of Magic from Gameloft is a platformer with a difference. You’ll be taking photos of things around you to spawn as magic spells in the game. The title was originally an iPhone game, so it might at least control a bit letter on the DSi. Starship Control is the third Q-Games title to hit the handheld and is as the title suggests a tower defence game in space. If the quality of the earlier games from Q is anything to go by, this one should be great as well.
Rounding up the line up for the DSiWare is Littlest Pet Shop. It appears to be much like Nintendogs but aimed a younger girls, if the purple dogs are anything to go by. The last title this week for the DSi is the green edition of myNotebook from Aussie developers Nnooo. Personally I was waiting for myNotebook: Taupe, but I guess blue will have to do.
Virtual Console
This weeks Virtual Console line up is baffling, not because the games are confusing, but we’re not sure who would want to buy the TurboGrahix version of Street Fighter II Championship Edition. This also makes it like the 18th version of Street Fighter II to hit the Virtual Console. Last up is A Boy and His Blob: Trouble on Blobolonia, which to be frank hasn’t aged well and should only be played if you’re at all nostalgic about some Blob action. If that’s not your thing, pick up the new version that recently came out from WayForward, it’s a little more expensive but a ton load better.
Weeks ranting about no Excitebike: I’ve lost count.
