Nintendo Download Update: Blaster Master

Nintendo hasnt been holding back the good Virtual Console games lately

You may still be playing Ogre Battle 64 and Super Mario Kart, but Nintendo doesn’t seem to care as the classic NES game Blaster Master has now hit the service for the usual price of 500 points. Unfortunately we still don’t have the WiiWare remake, Blaster Master: Overdrive, yet in PAL Land, but at least getting the original is a great sign that we’ll get the remake eventually.

Luckily for young fans of the original the second episode of Learning with the PooYoos lands today for a small 500 points. And this game is definitely for your little sibling or child aged 3-6; anyone older will probably find it a little boring. Next is Zombie Panic in Wonderland, which is another on-rails game for 800 points. Thankfully, this one seems better than those already on the service, as it’s a 3rd person game (think along the lines of Sin & Punishment) with quite a good 3D art direction. To top it all off, buildings and other structures are all destructible and co-op is fully supported.

Update: Australia misses out on Zombie Panic, lame.

DSiWare contains double the amount of everything else today, although half of the six are Game & Watch titles. Helmet, Manhole, and Vermin are all 200 points each like last week. The rest are a little mixed. AlphaBounce is a 500 pointer brick breaker RPG, we’re not sure how that works. The Price is Right is a video game adaptation of of the of the popular TV show, although we’re not sure that it would be worth it for 800 points. Last is Faceez, which essentially extends the DSi’s photo manipulation options by offering more silly alterations; we’re sure Delta Goodrem would love this one.
