Nintendo Download Update (1/1) – Toad Lang Syne
A quiet start to the year, but the Wii U doesn’t pull any punches as we head into 2015! Captain Toad makes his Australia debut, with Nintendo hitting the ground running with releases. But there’s more!
Two GBA Virtual Console games also make their way to the digital shopfront. F-Zero: GP Legend is an interesting installment, based on the F-Zero anime, it has some different gameplay compared to the other F-Zero games. Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones might scratch that Fire Emblem itch you’ve been having lately, unless you got it as part of the 3DS Ambassador program.
Also, for about a week, if you buy New Super Mario Bros. U, you’ll get a free code for New Super Luigi U! The expansion is about $29.95, so not bad!
The 3DS is very sleepy this week, with just a couple of themes gracing our eShop shores, but hey, they’re some cool themes! Pick between Slowpoke, or NES Bowser, or do what I do, and buy too many and put them all on shuffle!
Otherwise, to celebrate the “imminent” release of Monster Hunter 4, Capcom have put Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate up for half price on both Wii U and 3DS this week. So if you need a bargain of a time sink, here it is! The Shovel Knight cross-buy promotion also ends at the end of 2014, but for one more week, you can grab the game at the promotion price anyway!
You know the drill, tell us what you’re grabbing in the comments below!

I don’t think I could go digital for that New Super Mario Bros. U + New Super Luigi U price.
I’m getting Captain Toad, F Zero and Fire Emblem. What a week to start my Nintendo focused year.
Weren’t the Ambassador games meant to be exclusive to early adopters of the system?
The GBA games are on the Wii U, not the 3DS, Nicholas.
Well that’s a pretty selfish attitude. Everyone deserves the right to play these classics 🙂 Ambassadors still got them for free, which is still an awesome bonus considering it costs $91 for all ten games!
Yeh, weird attitude. Particularly since it was a bonus after the fact, not something people had a choice in deciding inclusion to.
Shovel knight being on special of course that is a must buy for wii u.
F-Zero GP Legend is nowhere to be found 🙁
