Nintendo details all the things the Joycon controllers can do
Along with the rest of the Nintendo Switch information, Nintendo has detailed all the things that the Joycon has and can do. There’s a lot packed into those tiny little units!
Each controller has a full assortment of buttons, included two shoulder buttons on the top for when you’re playing it detached from the console. There’s a share button, that at launch will just share screenshots but video functionality will be added later. It’s called the ‘capture’ button.
Before this presentation we all thought the Joycon controllers would have an IR point like the Wii Remote, however it seems to be an IR motion camera instead. This camera can sense hand gestures and the distance you are from something.
There is also an included strap with each Joycon, just the like the Wii Remote. This is include with the ‘Joycon grip’ which slots over the top and makes the controller more comfortable.
But… can they survive a trip through the washing machine when you forget you left one in your pocket after your inexplicable rooftop Switch party?
