Nintendo of America name taker, Reggie Fils-Aime, has revealed in a new interview with Forbes that he considers Apple a "significant threat". Apple has started pushing games more and more with the App Store on the iPhone and iPod Touch. It also released in a new firmware update its "Game Center" app, that allows friends to invite each other to play games online, compare top scores and gain achievements.
Reggie believes that in the near term that Apple could "absolutely" be a bigger threat than even Microsoft. Reggie says that the iOS devices fight with Nintendo on time. The iPhone and iPod Touch are great for casual and shorter games while Nintendo DS games can be more time consuming. Reggie cites that he has played over 150 hours of Dragon Quest IX.
Readers, do you find yourself playing your iPhone or iPod Touch (or Android for that matter) over the DS more? Or is the DS still your main gaming staple?
