After the revelation last week that Bionic Commando couldnt get released on the Virtual Console, Capcoms head of public relations Chris Kramer has spoken further to clarify exactly why. According to Kramer, exactly why is directly due to Nintendo. The reason being that Capcom has licensed the rights of their games to Nintendo, meaning that Nintendo has direct control of any Capcom game that was released on a Nintendo console in the past and can therefore control whether or not it hits the virtual console. More inside Kramer also lets us know that Capcom are not the only company to have entered into this arrangement with Nintendo but of course is not naming them. This arrangement means Capcom only takes a slice of the profits with Nintendo getting the bulk. Nintendo does however handle the scheduling and technical work.
That would explain the bad Virtual Console releases week after week–Nintendos even delaying old games!
