Nintendo confirms 10 million Switch units sold in 9 months
Nintendo has issued a press release confirming that there have now been 10 million Switch units sold in just nine months of being on sale. It reached 10 million sold on December 10th.
To put that into some perspective, in five years the Wii U has sold 13.6 million. Compared to other consoles, the PlayStation 4 sold the same amount in “just under nine months”, it took a year for the Xbox One to do the same.
“We are delighted that many fans across Australia and New Zealand and around the world are enjoying Nintendo Switch,” said Nintendo Australia Managing Director Kamon Yoshimura. “With so many gameplay experiences offered by Nintendo Switch, we are looking forward to seeing new players share the fun this holiday season.”
The Switch is doing amazing things and it’s not even a year old and with no holiday season under its belt yet. How much do you think it’ll have sold in March? Let us know in the comments below.

The biggest surprise for me is that Kamon Yoshimura is the head of ANZ Nintendo, that’s pretty cool.
