Nintendo attraction to open in Universal Studios Osaka in 2020 says report

When Nintendo and Universal Studios announced a partnership to bring a Nintendo themed attraction to their parks we knew two things, one, it was going to take a while and two it would probably be in Japan.
Now a report from Sankei points to that being 2020 and Universal Studios Osaka. Investment into the land next to the current park is underway and upwards of 500 million Australian dollars is going to be spent.
Japan is hosting the Olympic Games in Tokyo that year, it’ll be lucky if they can get it in time for the influx of international tourists.
Now if I start saving now…

yeah, the problem with that report, is the indicate land available for it. Looking at the picture above, I noted how it was small, so I marked it out on google maps and yep, its a tiny plot of land..
you can see it here.. https://twitter.com/renderman7/status/706099006934372354
being wedged in between, two roads and the park entry plaza, means they can’t really push things out in all directions, leaving only expanding into the park as the only option, which sadly means, they wont have room to play with, even if they wanted to.
Sadly all the Universal Parks suffer the same problem, they build themselves into a corner and then try and fit more in later.. I guess time will tell
Sounds good. I have fond memories of Sega Joypolis when I was in Tokyo before. Would be interesting to see if they do this over in the US…
