Nintendo has just announced its promised “new interactive experience” and it’s called Nintendo LABO.

Nintendo LABO is a “build and play experience” that uses the Nintendo Switch, and Joy-Con to build and create many different things. The first “Toy-Con” sets include a piano, fishing rod, and a steering wheel type toy. All of these use Nintendo Switch software to make them interactive.

We are excited to introduce Nintendo Labo, our new invitation for everyone to make, play and discover with Nintendo Switch,” said Kamon Yoshimura, Managing Director of Nintendo Australia. “We are looking forward to seeing how families and all creative minds craft new ways to play together.

There’s no scissors or glue needed, everything you need to make the sets are included in the box and come flat-pack.

The second set appears to be Project Giant Robot come to life. You build an entire mechanism for a robot and strap it on your back – all of in it cardboard. There’s also a customisation set for making your Toy-Con your own.
