A year ago Nintendo ‘announced’ the NX. The system was announced as  brand new dedicated gaming console and was revealed alongside Nintendo’s other big announcements of teaming up with DeNA for mobile games, applications and services.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata at the time announced the new codename to reassure both fans and investors alike that the company was not moving away from dedicate game machines.

“As proof that Nintendo maintains strong enthusiasm for the dedicated game system business, let me confirm that Nintendo is currently developing a dedicated game platform with a brand-new concept under the development codename NX. It is too early to elaborate on the details of this project, but we hope to share more information with you next year.”

Since then we’ve learned absolutely nothing from Nintendo, no one really has any idea what the NX will be but it is ‘next year’ and well there’s still 9 months of that.
