My Nintendo adds rewards for digital and physical Nintendo Switch purchases

Once upon a time back when Club Nintendo was a thing you got rewarded with points for purchasing games and hardware both physical and digitally. You had to scratch off a code, then fill in a survey but it worked. Then My Nintendo came along and you only got points with digitally purchased games.

All that’s about to change with the Nintendo Switch. The My Nintendo website has just updated with a list of ways to earn gold coins with Switch purchases. Different value of purchases get you different rewards, but the key thing is that you can register physical titles. We’ve seen this in our Switch already, but so far has been disabled. Here’s a look at what you get back;

Gold Coins on My Nintendo are the most valuable as they unlock discounts on anything from retail and eShop games, even Virtual Console.
