Nintendo Accounts now have Two-Factor Authentication

Lock it up tight.

Your Nintendo Account just got a lot more secure. Starting today, you can add Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to your Nintendo Account, meaning that nobody will be able to sign into it without access to your phone.

The 2FA that Nintendo has opted to use is, surprisingly, Google’s Authenticator, which is by far one of the simplest and most secure authentication services around. All it requires is an app on your phone and to scan a QR code. You can click here to add 2FA to your account, where you can also look over the security details and even change your account username. Neat!

Sadly, there’s still no online eShop or PayPal support in Australia, but hey, small steps, right?
