Nintendo has just announced the price, release date and final technical specifications of the 3DS. The revolutionary new handheld will go on sale in Japan on February 26, for 25,000 yen. That’s about AU$308 (at the time of writing). America and Europe should expect the 3DS in March, though no price was mentioned. Specifics on launch plans for Australia are yet to be revealed but we should have word from Nintendo Australia very, very soon.
The first colours to be released will be Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black, and below is the first picture of the Aqua Blue 3DS from the conference.
From what we can see, the only design change since the 3DS’s first showing at E3 is the analog stick, which now stands out in grey instead of matching the rest of the system. Watch this space for the rest of the 3DS’s specs.
