It would appear that the Nintendo 3DS browser is secure as a screen door on a submarine with more exploits allowing for some interesting things to be done on the system.
This time it’s ‘injecting’ Game Boy Color ROMs into other Game Boy Color Virtual Console titles via a browser exploit. This means games like Pokemon, which are likely never to be released on the Virtual Console can be played on the console. There’s some limitations with file sizes which mean some games won’t work and this only appears to work on Game Boy Color enabled games right now.
The exploit works on the current Nintendo 3DS firmware, but not the New Nintendo 3DS as with most of these things. It’s likely to be patched out quite easily in the future but for now, if you want to play something like Pokemon Yellow you could, if you somehow legally got a ROM of it.
