31,000 units sold in just four days, topping the record set by the Wii

We were getting a little concerned when we hadnt heard anything, but alas our fears were unfounded! Nintendo Australia has this morning announced the the Nintnedo 3DS has sold 31,000 units in its first four days on sale. This now means the Nintendo 3DS is the fastest selling handheld in the country.

For comparison the Wii sold 32,000 units on its first week on sale back in good old 2006. The Wii has now gone on to sell 2.1 million consoles in Australia.

International readers, 31,000 may not seem like a lot compared to some countries – but for Australia that is a great amount.
