Nintendo 2DS will launch in Australia also on October 12th
Nintendo Australia has announced that the Nintendo 2DS will also go on sale here in Australia and New Zealand on October 12th. Thanks to the magic of the rotation of the earth that means we’ll be among the first in the world to get it.
The console will go on sale for $149.95AU and $179.95NZ, just a mere twenty dollars more than in America – at least for the Australian pricing.
The Nintendo 2DS, despite the name is a Nintendo 3DS – just without any 3D ability. It also looks completely different with a slate like design. Everything you love about the 3DS is here, the eShop, backwards compatibility with all 3DS and DS games. Australia will be receiving the Black + Blue colours and the White + Red colours, we’ve got a picture below. The Nintendo 2DS carrying case can be bought separately in blue or red.
So is the Nintendo 2DS on your radar? Any plans to pick up this kid-focused console?
About time! I can’t see 3D, so I was NOT about to buy a 3DS when I wasn’t going to use what it was meant for, anyway. This is a perfect alternative! Can’t wait for it to release in the US! 🙂
Can’t wait to see the Circle Pad Pro for this bad boy 😉
Nintendo could have made the slate as one touch screen.
Then it could be used as a touchscreen web browser or media player in landscape mode.
Not ony that, but a WII U Circle Pad Pro could have been an optional extra. It would provide the control pads and buttons of the Wii U and be mounted in landscape mode on the back, to emulate a Wii U gamepad.
making the slate one touch screen would make it an entirely new console
having owned every model since the Phat will get the Red/white one, very excited!
lol so true
