Sega has finally put to rest the leaked details and has confirmed Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is coming.

In a press release Sega confirms the Mario & Sonic title is being made for the Wii and 3DS, but interestingly, not the DS. It looks like companies are starting to wrap up their DS support in favour of Nintendo’s new, flashy handheld.

Sega says the new Olympics game will let gamers play 50 different sports, including some of the sports found in the first title like athletics, waters sports and table tennis, as well as all new sports, such as soccer and riding.

No release date has been announced yet, but Sega says we will learn those details later this year.
