In an interview with Dengeki DS & Wii Style, Nintendo producer Hitoshi Yamagami, Intelligent Systems producer Toru Narihiro, and Intellegent Systems “”graphics chief”” Masahiro Higuchi have suggested that the next incarnation of Fire Emblem may be online in one way or another. It was stated that this feature may have made it into the recent Fire Emblem game, Goddess of Dawn, but was dropped due to issues with balance and technology.

More Inside Higuchi said that players would probably enjoy downloadable content such as maps and units, but this wasnt able to be implemented due to the above reasons.

So, because Goddess of Dawn was the first Wii Fire Emblem game, they focused mainly on the controls but as they said, if all goes well they hope to implement some sort of online feature in the next Fire Emblem incarnation to be featured on the Wii.
