New Yoshi game destined for Wii U, from Kirby’s Epic Yarn creator

Not only that, it looks like it too.

The first Yoshi game since the Nintendo 64 was announced during tonight’s Nintendo Direct. It’s being developed by the team responsible for Kirby’s Epic Yarn, and seems to be using a similar visual style, with the world and characters being made of yarn, fabric, thread and other crafty bits and pieces.
Unlike Kirby’s Epic Yarn however, the game looks to be fully rendered in 3D, which could allow for exciting new possibilities in this yarn world that weren’t possible in a flat 2 dimensional world.

We’ve got the little bit of game play footage shown below for your enjoyment.

No release date details were revealed, however we will let you know when anything is announced!

Do you think this could signal Nintendo creating even more yarn-related games with their other beloved characters, or got something else to say about the announcement? Let us know in the comments!
