New Yoshi game destined for Wii U, from Kirby’s Epic Yarn creator

The first Yoshi game since the Nintendo 64 was announced during tonight’s Nintendo Direct. It’s being developed by the team responsible for Kirby’s Epic Yarn, and seems to be using a similar visual style, with the world and characters being made of yarn, fabric, thread and other crafty bits and pieces.
Unlike Kirby’s Epic Yarn however, the game looks to be fully rendered in 3D, which could allow for exciting new possibilities in this yarn world that weren’t possible in a flat 2 dimensional world.

No release date details were revealed, however we will let you know when anything is announced!

Epic Yarn is totally awesome but I hope they really expand on the idea as I don’t just want more of the same but with a different character.
I’ll be keeping a keen eye on this game. I really enjoyed the Yoshi-centric platformers. Missed out on Epic Yarn unfortunately. Love the look of it. So if this rumour proved true, how does it look for the rest of those rumoured games?
