New trailer shows off amiibo integration for Twilight Princess HD

Controversial?

After a couple of weeks of rumours and product listings from retailers, Nintendo Deutschland has possibly let the cat out of the bag a little early.

A new trailer has confirmed most of the rumours and provided more details on the ‘dungeon’ locked behind the Wolf Link and Midna amiibo. The dungeon called ‘The Cave of Shadows’ is described in the video as ‘series of challenges’ and at the end of it you can save your high score to the amiiibo. The score is based on the amount of hearts you have left at the end of the challenge.

The Wolf Link amiibo will also transfer something to the new Legend of Zelda game on the Wii U.

All previously released “The Legend of Zelda” amiibo will also function in the game. Link and Toon Link will full up your supply of arrows, Zelda and Shiek restore all of your our hearts. Ganondorf goes in the opposite direction and makes damage from enemies twice as much.

We think the Cave of Shadows will available to unlock later in the game without the amiibo, but the Wolf Link amiibo is just a handy shortcut.
