New Pokémon X &Y trailer reveals starter evolutions and new Mega Mewtwo form

The Pokémon Company have revealed the first evolutions of the new starter Pokémon in Pokémon X & Y. The look of the Pokémon were leaked earlier in the week but now the localised names for them have been revealed.

Quilladin, Braixen, and Frogadier are the evolutions of starters Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. Along with the new evolutions of these starters another couple of Mega Pokémon have revealed.

Mega Mewtwo X is yet another form of Mewtwo, the previously revealed Mewtwo is now known as Mega Mewtwo Y and as the name suggests only one of each Mega form of Mewtwo can be unlocked in each game. The latest trailer also shows a Mega evolution of Garchomp.

It has also been revealed that the new Global Link in the game will have a mobile-optimised version so you can check your stats on the go.

There was also a lot of changes made to the balance of the game and the way the different types of Pokemon are affected by condition changes.

• Fire-type Pokémon can no longer be burned.
• Grass-type Pokémon are immune to Leech Seed and powder and spore moves.
• Electric-type Pokémon can no longer be paralysed.
• Ice-type Pokémon are immune to being Frozen and take no damage from hail.
• Poison-type Pokémon are immune to poison conditions, even when switching in with Toxic Spikes. Poison-type Pokémon nullify the Toxic Spikes (unless these Pokémon are also Flying type or have the Levitate Ability).
• Ground-type Pokémon are immune to Thunder Wave and take no damage from a sandstorm.
• Flying-type Pokémon cannot be damaged by Spikes when switching in, nor become afflicted with a Poison or Badly Poisoned condition due to switching in with the Toxic Spikes in play.
• Rock-type Pokémon take no damage from a sandstorm, Their Sp. Def also goes up in a sandstorm.
• Ghost-type Pokémon are not affected by moves that prevent Pokémon from fleeing from battle.
• Steel-type Pokémon take no damming from a sandstorm.  They are also immune to the Poison or Badly Poisoned conditions. Even if switched in with Toxic Spikes in play, they will not be poisoned.
