Along with the news of a new iteration in the 3DS family, Nintendo also teased us with a new way to customise our handhelds.

Heralding back to the GameBoy Micro, the New 3DS will support interchangeable Cover Plates. Take note, as this is only the regular size and not the New 3DS XL.

Many different designs were displayed, including the likes of Mario and friends, mushrooms, Animal Crossing and a plethora of patterns along with much, much more. Cover Plates can also be mix and matched to make it unique to your own personal style. Have a look of the selection of styles here.

Pricing is yet to be confirmed for Australia but they will be available for 1000Yen in Japan, which is about $10AUS.

Keep it tuned to Vooks for updates on release and pricing in Australia.

Video games are not my forte. I'm not very good at video games. If you walked up to me in the streets and exclaimed “Hey! You suck at video games!” I would not call you a liar. They are, however, one of my favourite things and classic Nintendo titles are what I like best. Sure I haven't finished New Super Mario Bros. U yet and I've had the game since launch, but that doesn't mean I don't get the same fuzzy feelings as you when I play it.
