Amongst the slew of 3DS news Nintendo gave us, some new details about Mario Golf: World Tour were released. And it looks like it will be living up to it’s name.
Following in the footsteps of Mario Kart 7, players will be able to compete online all over the world in real time. Scores for large scale tournament competitions will be uploaded to a leaderboard so you can see exactly where you stand against the competition.
Communities will also make a return (as previously seen in Mario Kart 7), where you can find like minded golfers to compete against. Players are also able to set custom rules for games, ranging from traditional play to timed course games where players must finish a hole within a set time limit. Embracing the year of Luigi, there is even a mode where everyone must play as the green plumber. With this wide range of options, finding a match that suits your style of play should be an easy task.
Local multiplayer will also be available so you can challenge your friends to a quick 18 holes without going online.
Mario Golf: World Tour releases this summer in Europe. That’s the dead middle of winter for us here in Australia, though Nintendo Australia have yet to announced a solid release date.
Makes sense to us.
It's Black, Back Again.
